Danilo Lazzari has been managing director of visionlab since it was founded in 2004.
As an internationally recognized expert on the cross-border transfer of architectural services, he is regularly requested for interviews and conferences on this topic. He also advises the Franco-German Chamber of Commerce and develops and coordinates projects for German, Austrian, Swiss, Italian, Spanish, English, Danish, Dutch and American (North and South America) architectural firms.
In 2002, he graduated in architecture from the Università Degli Studi La Sapienza in Rome (It) and the Bauhaus University Weimar (De). Danilo Lazzari managed projects for Nemesi Studio Rome (It) and was the founder of "competition office", responsible for its competition division and acquisition.
Although we are active in several countries, we consider the French market to be particularly promising. Only three to a maximum of five teams are invited to French competitions. In addition, all participants are guaranteed a generous fee for their competition entry, so that an invitation to French procedures is often economically attractive due to the guaranteed competition fee alone.
In France, the selection process for the invited teams takes place without preliminary drafts, without a draw and without direct nomination.
The competition invitation (based on references of the competition team) in the context of a typically extremely small field of participants offers significantly higher chances of winning competitions than in all other European countries.
Regardless of the enormous number of tendered procedures (65% of restricted open procedures Europe-wide), one of the most important features remains the very rapid project progress. The financing is already in place, contractual contents are also clarified before the competition is announced, and once the winner has been selected, the project starts within 4 weeks, without further negotiations.
For "newcomers", however, it is laborious and complicated to be successful in France, because in addition to an application tailored to the French market, which requires some background knowledge, it is crucial to put together a team of partners with strategic connections in good time that covers all the competences required by the contracting authority.
We make this market accessible to you through our specific knowledge and network and provide relevant guidance regarding contracts, fees and liability.
